These are 500+ reference materials in the the ISRM Library collection, which involve books, manuals, instruction sheets and sales brochures. Electronic files may be scans (200 dpi) of these materials or may link to or reference scans from other sources for your convenience. Credits are given to all contributors of scanned materials. Files will be in the standardized formats, like individual JPG or GIF picture files, DOC MS word files, or PDF Adobe reader files, which are preferred. These are located on ISRM's server. In some instances a LINK is provided to another collector site where the document is stored. Thanks gentlemen! If an item is currently in print and available, no effort will be made to document the item, other than to acknowledge that it exists. ISRM will be more motivated to scan a manual if someone is looking for it, so email with requests. All the images of slide rules in the galleries and the PDF files of scanned books, manuals and instructions have been free to download since 2003. The policy of ISRM is to continue this practice, without restrictions in order to provide research and educational information to the world at large. However, running a web site of this size with a large amount of data does take a lot of personal time and effort and does incurr costs in hosting in order to provide the bandwidth. It takes many hours to scan slide rules and manuals. ISRM gets many hits per day from appreciative visitors, collectors and researchers. New - Hardcopy Slide Rule Instruction Reprints from the ISRM Library Available on Amazon

This is a giant preservation project and is ongoing! If you have downloaded any of the manuals in the ISRM Library, you were probably dissapointed in the quality of the digital scans. Many years have gone by since then, and much of the paper ephemera has deteriorated. With an enourmous amount of work, all the manuals have been rescanned, aligned and processed to the point that they resemble the original documents printed by the manufacturer. These scans are now in the reprints available through Amazon. Every one of the 540-550 page Volumes contain most of the popular models from each of the brands, or by country or language are available in paperback ($19.95) or hardcover ($27.95) on Amazon, which will print to order in 7 countries.
